Refund and Returns Policy

At Ovelatee, we obsess over craftsmanship and everyday usability. If something falls short, this policy explains how we’ll make it right. These terms apply to orders shipped to the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, Spain, Canada, Italy, Belgium, and Portugal.
1. Policy Snapshot
Ovelatee accepts returns within 30 days from the date you receive the product. If the issue is our fault (damaged, defective, or incorrect item), returns are free ($0) and we’ll provide a prepaid return label. If you change your mind, you can still return eligible items; however, you’ll cover the return shipping, and the refund will exclude any original shipping fee. Once we receive and inspect your return, refunds are processed within 7 business days back to the original payment method. No re-import fees apply in any of the supported markets listed above.
2. What Makes a Return Eligible
Our pieces are handcrafted from kiln-dried wood and designed for daily use across categories such as seating, storage, lighting, timepieces, bedroom furniture, and sofas. To keep things fair, returns are accepted when all of the following are met:
You notify us within 30 days of delivery. The item is new, unused, unassembled, and unaltered. Any signs of use—including scratches, dents, stains, odors, pet hair, drill holes, cut cords, removed tags, or tampered clock movements—will make the item ineligible. You send the product back in the original packaging, including foam inserts, protectors, hardware/screws, tools, manuals, accessories, cable ties, and any movement protectors for clocks. If you no longer have the original packaging, you must repackage securely at your cost. You also provide proof of purchase (order number, invoice, or confirmation email). Items that are fully assembled, mounted, wired, or installed are not returnable, unless the issue is a verified manufacturing defect or shipping damage. These conditions apply in all supported countries listed above.
3. When Ovelatee Is at Fault
If your product arrives damaged in transit (such as cracks, crushed corners, or chipped finishes), contains a manufacturing defect (for example, misaligned joinery, warped panels beyond tolerance, drawers that don’t track, clock movement faults, unstable legs or frames), or if we sent the wrong item, we will make it right.
In these cases, return shipping is free, and we will issue a prepaid return label and can arrange a carrier pickup where available. You may choose either a replacement (subject to stock and lead times) or a full refund, including any original shipping fee paid at checkout. This approach is consistent across all covered countries, with only minor variations in local carrier services.
4. Change-of-Mind Returns
If the piece doesn’t suit your space or style, you may return eligible items within 30 days, provided they are unused, unassembled, and in original packaging. In this scenario, you pay for the return shipping, and we strongly recommend a tracked and insured service. Once the item arrives, our team performs a condition and completeness inspection. If it passes, we issue a refund for the product price only; any original shipping fee is non-refundable.
5. Items You Can’t Return
Some products are not returnable. These include gift cards (digital or physical), final-sale/clearance items, and used, assembled, installed, or modified items (for example, mounted headboards, hard-wired lighting, clocks with movement components tampered or protective locks removed, or sofas that have been unwrapped and used). Custom or made-to-order pieces—such as special dimensions, finishes, carvings, upholstery, or non-standard electrical specifications—are not eligible for change-of-mind returns; they are only returnable if defective or damaged on arrival.
6. How to Start a Return
To request a return, email [email protected] within 30 days of delivery and include your order number, a brief explanation of the reason for return, and, for damaged or defective items, clear photos or a short video of the product and the inner and outer packaging. Our team will respond within 1–2 business days with next steps. If the case qualifies as Ovelatee’s fault, your message will include a prepaid return label. Please repack with all original foam and protectors; for clocks, re-fit any movement locks/protectors before shipping. We will provide the correct return address in our email instructions to ensure your package goes to the appropriate warehouse.
7. Refunds & Timelines
After your return is received and inspected, we’ll process your refund within 7 business days. Refunds are issued to the original payment method in USD (credit/debit card, PayPal, etc.), or you may request store credit. Please note that banks and card issuers may take up to an additional 7 business days to post funds to your account. If an item fails inspection (for example, it shows signs of use or missing parts), we will notify you and discuss the available options.
8. Restocking Fees
We do not charge restocking fees. Eligible returns receive the full refundable amount once the item passes inspection, as outlined above.
9. Order Processing & Shipping (Summary)
Most orders ship promptly. Orders placed before 2:00 PM EST are typically processed the same business day; orders received later are processed on the next business day. Standard processing times are 1–2 business days (Monday–Friday, excluding U.S. public holidays). Typical transit times are 5–6 business days within the United States; 6–8 business days to Europe & the U.K. (FR/DE/ES/IT/BE/PT); and 7–10 business days to Canada and Australia.
